THCH appoints new Board Member
THCH is delighted to welcome Arthur Merchant to its Board as a Senior Independent Director (SID).
Arthur is a practiced financial professional, and with over 10 years of experience as a Board Member in the housing sector, he brings with him a helpful understanding of regulation and key issues for residents.
Arthur said: “I’m delighted to be joining the THCH’s Board and look forward to working with Executive and Non-Executive colleagues to strengthen our governance and viability assessments and secure a better future for our residents and staff.”
Earlier this year, the Regulator of Social Housing downgraded THCH’s governance and viability ratings from a G1 to G3 and a V2 to V3. The appointment of a SID will help to ensure that the organisation is governed economically, efficiently, and effectively.
THCH’s CEO, Anita Khan, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Arthur to our Board at this important time. His skills in strategic planning, audit and risk, and finance will help to strengthen the Board’s skillset and provide vital assurance during this period of change.”
As a SID, Arthur will act with independence, working in the best interests of the organisation, its obligations, and residents.
